You have volunteered to work! – Please understand that this
is supposed to be fun, but our prime goal is to MAKE MONEY. Expect to work a 6
hour shift.
Please stay at your assigned post – if you need a break,
please ask the coordinator first! We depend on you to be where you have been
trained to be for safety and efficiency reasons.
Always conform to the rules of our game – they exist to
reduce the chance of injury to both you and the patron. This is serious and
infractions will not be tolerated
. Do you understand your assigned role? – if you have any
questions, please ask one of the guild members or the coordinator.
Keep your paws off of other people’s stuff –
duh.
The skybox is off limits without permission – safety
first!
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have an adult sponsor with
them – parents please be aware that your children are your responsibility
both at king of the log and everywhere on festival grounds! Misbehaving
children will be sold to the gypsies.
Be thou not a pigge – shower every day. if you own your
costume, wash it.
You must wear shoes at all times. – trichinosis is gross.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages is forbidden during festival
hours – underage drinking is never permissible.
Keep patrons who are drunk from playing.
Keep patrons who are smoking away from the straw.
Please keep all anachronisms out of sight – ie. soda cans,
plastic items, coolers, wristwatches, sunglasses, and especially street
clothing. You are performing in a 360 theater.
Never interfere with a street performer’s or hawker’s
act – If he or she initiates contact, feel free to participate.
Be sensitive to your audience. – Cuss words and unwelcome
touch are against Festival policy – this rule applies to all volunteers,
all other participants, and patrons – please be respectful of personal
space and distance.
Volunteers who are found in violation of these policies will be
disciplined at the discretion of the guild.
