Your home for fun at the King of the Log - a game of skill and combat at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival invites you to display your courage, strength and cunning this year at the Festival. Each year the Festival is open every weekend from mid August to the end of September. King of Log is a game of hand to hand combat, using sacks, on a log in a moat of straw. The winner of three bouts becomes king or queen of the log and is eligible for the King's Tournament at 5:00 p.m. More details of the rules and strategies to win are to be found within these pages. The King and Queen winners are posted here for all to behold. If you know these champions, contact them and come to the festival for a challenge match. By the King's grace, a special ticket discount for the Festival is available for all prior year winners. Click here for details. The King's festival is large and you, poor knave, may get lost. Directions to the Festival and King of the Log are contained here. Our lord, King Henry, needed a training camp to identify courageous knights without the sad mortality of swordplay. King of the Log has a an illustrious history and place as an important part of the King's training center. King of the Log is a charitable organization that raises funds for arts and theater in the public schools. Do you yearn to work in costumes of the realm and have fun in the straw?
